2024 John A. Caruso Scholarship Award Recipients

2024 ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
ELIGIBILITY
High School seniors attending any public Warwick High School who are residents of the City of Warwick may apply.
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Five, one-year scholarships in the amount of $2,500.00 each will be awarded.
APPLICATION SUBMITTAL
The application submittal package must include:
- A completed 2024 Annual Scholarship Award Application Form
- Proof of the student's acceptance at any post-secondary institution accredited by the National Association of Schools and Colleges and/or the Department of Education in the state where the institution is located. Applications may be made prior to receiving formal notification of acceptance to the post-secondary institution; however, all awards shall be withheld pending receipt of proof of acceptance, which would be a letter from the Registrar certifying that the applicant is registered and in good standing
- Documentation of the student's financial need as determined by the confidential Parent's Scholarship Financial Statement
- A copy of the student's High School transcript of grades
- Letters of recommendation from the student's principal or guidance counselor, as well as, one from the student's academic teachers
- Evidence of participation in extracurricular activities and/or community service
- An essay on the following wastewater topic:
While there are many dedicated professionals in the fields of water and wastewater management who work towards improving the water quality, the responsibility in actual fact lies with all citizens to make mindful efforts and minimize their environmental impact. Often these efforts are more successful when one's local community is actively involved. In what ways could you work or volunteer within your community to raise awareness of water quality issues so as to safeguard the local environment. Please describe the actual organizations within your community with whom you could realistically work to achieve these goals (such as local environmental groups, watershed associations, or other community activist groups).
